Laser Cutting - Basic Challenge

Create an engraved name tag or coaster!

1. Select a piece of wood and measure the area you would like to cut out.
2. Create a vector design in Adobe Illustrator, with red lines to cut out your shape, and black lines to engrave your design onto the wood. a. If you want to make it more unique, try taking any image off the internet and turning it into black and white/line art! You can do this through an online website or on adobe illustrator through the image trace function.
3. Work with a PI in the laser cutting room to laser cut your design!
4. Show your new nametag/coaster to a front desk PI to get a stamp!

OR Use the Fablight (Metal) Laser Cutter to engrave and cut a metal coin!

1. Ask a PI for the coin template and update it with your name.
2. Work with a PI in the laser cutting room to cut out your metal coin on the Fablight laser cutter!
3. Show your new coin to a front desk PI to get a stamp!
